The primary concern throughout
this entire project was the ability to keep operatories open
for patient care during construction. Korte & Luitjohan worked
closely with the Owner to coordinate project work with patient
needs. For instance, the entire electrical service in the
building was replaced. The switchover from the old to the new
service was accomplished in a 30-minute period during the
lunch hour so no patient appointments were jeopardized.
Korte & Luitjohan was the General Contractor and
self-performed most of the critical aspects of the project,
including site grading, water and sewer system installation,
excavation of building site, foundation installation, rough
framing of the building, metal studs and drywall, ceiling,
installation of doors and other finishes throughout the
building. Because of Korte & Luitjohan’s careful scheduling
and coordination, what was originally considered an 8-month
project, was completed in 5 months with no disruption in
patient care.
