Columbia Quarry Company selected
Korte & Luitjohan to design and construct a cast-in-place,
concrete tunnel approximately 140 ft. long and 12 ft. wide
with 2 hopper rooms off to the side. The project also included
a 6 ft. access and drain tunnel approximately 100 ft. long.
The tunnel houses the quarry’s stone conveyor. The tunnel
usually has rock piled on it at a height up to 100 feet.
Korte & Luitjohan hired Juneau Associates, Inc. to design the
tunnel per Columbia Quarry Company’s requirements.
