Major Components: 11,555 sq. ft. addition consisting of an
indoor running track,
exercise equipment room, aerobics room
Architect: EWR Associates, Inc., Fairview Heights, Illinois
Owner: YMCA of Southwest Illinois, Belleville, Illinois
Korte & Luitjohan, as the general
contractor, coordinated the work of four prime contractors to
build this addition with a minimum of change orders. Completed
on time and on budget, the construction of this expansive
addition occurred without closing any part of the YMCA
facilities and caused little interruption in day-to-day
operations.
To accommodate it’s growing membership, the YMCA of
Southwestern Illinois-Belleville added this 11,555 square foot
extension to its existing facility. EWR Associates Inc.
designed the addition to match the original architecture and
exterior design scheme of the existing building. It features
the latest technology in indoor track material and wood
flooring.
