Korte & Luitjohan Contractors, Inc. is looking for an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our team!

Our FLEET MECHANIC is responsible for safely diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining construction vehicles and equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, brake, fuel, and HVAC systems. You will weld, fabricate, and assemble/disassemble components as required. You will also be estimating labor hours and parts needed for repairing equipment. This role ensures equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe and efficient job site operations.

Strong knowledge of diagnostics and repair of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems; the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams; and experience operating electronic diagnostic tools are required.

A high school diploma or GED equivalent, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record are required. Three years’ experience or more to qualify for the position. You must be able to lift 75lbs or more and perform tasks requiring standing, lifting, bending, and kneeling. 

ASE Certification, HVAC Certification, and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) are preferred.

Salary Range: $32 – $38/hour (based on experience and training)

Schedule: Full-time

Our PROJECT MANAGER will ensure that construction projects are executed precisely and efficiently. By acting as the key liaison between K&L clients/owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, you will foster positive relationships while driving

projects to successful completion in a timely manner.

You must have a bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field. A minimum of five years of experience in construction project management or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. You must be proficient in construction management software and have a strong understanding of industry regulations and safety standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving and critical thinking skills are a must.

Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate’s in Project Management (CAPM) are preferred.

Korte & Luitjohan Contractors, Inc. is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our team!

Our Project Engineer supports the Project Manager and Superintendent by coordinating project documentation, communication, contracts, and administrative processes throughout the life of a construction project. This role is responsible for managing submittals, RFIs, contracts, change orders, and project records while assisting with job setup, closeout, and overall project coordination.

You must have as Associate’s degree or a minimum of two years of college coursework toward a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. One to two years of construction-related experience is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and experience with Procore, ComputerEase, or similar construction management software is a must.

Korte & Luitjohan Contractors, Inc. is looking for an experienced Superintendent to join our Marion/Southern Illinois team!

K&L is growing and we’re looking for a new Superintendent to serve the Marion/Southern Illinois region. Our Superintendent will partner with the Project Manager to ensure the successful execution and completion of assigned construction projects. Under the direction and guidance of the General Superintendent, this role provides continuous, hands-on field leadership and is accountable for safety, schedule adherence, cost control, labor and equipment management, quality workmanship, and operational excellence. The Superintendent is the on-site leader and is ultimately responsible for the day-to-day execution of each project while promoting a positive company image and meeting or exceeding owner expectations.

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of construction experience (construction management, project planning, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, quality control, and safety oversight). A minimum of 3 years of supervisor experience is required (5 years is preferred). Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. OSHA 30 certification is a plus.

This job requires regular travel to project sites (typically within a two-hour radius) and frequent walking, standing, and moving through active construction sites.

We’re looking for someone to provide project leadership, keeping projects in contract compliance, on schedule, within budget and safe.  If you take pride in your work, can coordinate the work of others, and have a passion for construction, K&L wants to talk to you about being our next Superintendent.
