Korte & Luitjohan Contractors, Inc. (K&L) is expanding its presence in Southern Illinois with the opening of a new satellite office in downtown Marion. The new location marks the first satellite office in K&L’s 68-year history and represents another step in the company’s continued growth throughout the region.
Located on the third floor of The Citadel building at
504 Tower Square Plaza, Office 309, Marion, IL, the office will serve as a base for K&L operations south of Interstate 64.

Jason Gasawski is leading the company’s efforts to expand its construction management and design-build services throughout Southern Illinois. Marion was selected because of its central location within the region, K&L’s longstanding partnerships in Southern Illinois, and conversations with organizations seeking an experienced construction partner.

K&L’s Marion office is part of the
Ethos work community inside The Citadel. Ethos provides coworking and meeting space, incubator support for new businesses, and development programs for small businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders.
The Citadel itself has been part of downtown Marion for more than a century. The five-story building once housed a bank and today serves as a growing business hub for the community.
Marion Office Hosts Lunch & Learn
K&L’s new Marion office is already creating opportunities to connect with organizations and community leaders throughout Southern Illinois.
On September 16, 2026, K&L hosted a
Lunch & Learn program at The Citadel featuring guest speaker
Brian Schweiss of Rep Tech Inc. The program focused on
TIPS – The Interlocal Purchasing System and included representatives from the cities of Marion and Murphysboro, along with architects, engineers, and economic development agencies.
TIPS is a legally competitive cooperative purchasing program that allows eligible public entities to procure materials and services without having to conduct their own traditional public bidding process. The program is available throughout all 50 states and is designed to help participating organizations access competitively procured products and services at fair market pricing.
Korte & Luitjohan Contractors is an authorized TIPS contractor/vendor, giving participating organizations another way to work with K&L on qualifying construction projects.
The Lunch & Learn reflects K&L’s goal for its Marion location to be more than simply an additional office. It provides a local base from which the company can strengthen existing relationships, build new partnerships, and share resources with organizations throughout Southern Illinois.
